You may find the word “data” in the term “data journalism” redundant. After all, newsmaking of any kind, even the tacky, propaganda-driven type, has always relied heavily on data. Earlier, on-set journalists, reporters and data collection teams would scramble to procure information that could then be processed before being presented to the masses.
